18-year-old Girl Hurt in Guerneville Crash on River Road

 
GUERNEVILLE, CA (June 7, 2020) – Thursday afternoon, Caitlin Booth sustained serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on River Road.
 
The 18-year-old Caitlin Booth from Penngrove was hit by a truck while walking on the shoulder of River Road near the Hacienda Bridge.
 
According to reports, at around 4:30 p.m., Caitlin Booth was walking on the right narrow shoulder of River Road with a friend. However, it’s still unclear whether they are going or coming from the beach near the area, CHP spokesman Officer David de Rutte revealed.
 
Reports from the police revealed that a Dodge truck drove west on River Road. Moreover, the 75-year-old Guerneville driver didn’t see Caitlin Booth. As a result, the driver struck her with the truck’s side mirror, he said.
 
As soon as the driver found out about the crash, he/she stopped and check Booth.
 
Meanwhile, responders took Caitlin Booth to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries.
 
By Friday night, a hospital spokeswoman reported that Caitlyn Booth is now listed in fair condition.
 
Also, deRutte added that the driver and Booth’s friend didn’t suffer from injuries.
 
The authorities believe that the crash was an accident.
