BUTTE COUNTY, CA – 1 Dead, 2 Injured in Solo-Car Crash on Lower Forbestown Road Near Ponderosa Dam

Fatal Single-Vehicle Collision in Butte County

 
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (January 28, 2019) – A vehicle that crashed off Lower Forbestown Road near Ponderosa Dam Sunday morning left one person dead and two with injuries.
 
Cal Fire and other crews were contacted to the scene around 9:15 a.m. One person was hospitalized with moderate injuries and airlifted to a nearby hospital and another suffered minor injuries. Another person, however, did not make it and died in the collision.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol Oroville Office, the vehicle drove off a steep embankment and plummeted nearly 200 feet down under unknown circumstances. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and are asking the public to come forward if they know anything.
