Multiple People Hurt in Las Vegas Multi-Vehicle Accident on Stewart Avenue
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 25, 2019) – Several people suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on Stewart Avenue on July 23.
Authorities came to the scene around 9:40 p.m. on Stewart Avenue and Christy Lane. In addition, the accident happened just east of Nellis Boulevard.
Reports revealed that a 2016 Jeep Wrangler stopped in the left eastbound travel lanes on Stewart Avenue and Christy Lane for a red light. After that, a 2008 Nissan Titan stopped directly behind the Jeep. In addition, a 2017 Ford Fusion stopped behind the Nissan while a 2006 Mercedes Benz C-Class stopped behind the Ford.
After that, an eastbound 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 traveled on Stewart Avenue in the left lanes. However, the Chevrolet didn’t slow down for traffic or the stoplight. As a result, the Chevrolet struck the Mercedes, causing the simultaneous rear-ending action for the next cars.
Responders transported 32-year-old Bryan Castillo, the Mercedes Benz driver, to UMC Trauma in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the Ford and Nissan drivers sustained injuries.
According to the police, the pickup truck driver Daniel Lovato, 30, suffered from impairment. Authorities arrested him on suspicion of DUI.
At around 5:40 a.m., Stewart Avenue and Christy Lane reopened.
