2 Dead in Kings County Vehicle Crash on Laurel Avenue and Avenal Cutoff Road

KINGS COUNTY, CA (May 31, 2023) – Tuesday, a brutal truck accident on Laurel Avenue and Avenal Cutoff Road killed 2 people.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Laurel Avenue and Avenal Cutoff Road in Kings County.

Reports said that a male Ram truck driver stopped on Laurel. Then, he entered the intersection in the path of the Honda, which was driving north on Avenal Cutoff Road.

Officers confirmed that the Honda driver attempted to avoid the crash by turning left. However, the two vehicles still crashed.

As a result, a 67-year-old male and 67-year-old female passengers in the Honda died at the scene.

Then, responders took two other passengers in the Honda, a 77-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman to local hospitals with injuries.

Also, responders transported the driver of the truck to the hospital.

Moreover, the authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
