1 Dead in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident on Long Beach Boulevard and Willow Street
LONG BEACH, CA (February 25, 2025) – Monday morning, a woman died in a brutal pedestrian crash on Long Beach Boulevard and Willow Street.
The incident happened at around 6:45 a.m. on Long Beach Boulevard and Willow Street, said the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers found the woman unconscious on the road.
Bystanders and responding officers attempted to render aid, but the woman was transported to a hospital by firefighters and later pronounced dead, police said.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 61-year-old Long Beach man driving a 2005 GMC made a right turn from westbound Willow Street onto northbound Long Beach Boulevard, striking the woman as she walked in a marked crosswalk, according to the LBPD.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
”At this time, impaired driving does not appear to be a factor in the collision,” police revealed.
Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact LBPD Collision Investigation Detail Detective Joseph Johnson at 562-570-7355.
