MANTECA, CA (May 15, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a brutal pedestrian crash on Highway 120 near Main Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 4:52 a.m. on Highway 120 near the ramp for Main Street.

Reports said that a westbound car avoided hitting a female pedestrian who was standing in the roadway for still unknown reasons. Then, the driver swerved to avoid hitting the pedestrian, but the car’s side mirror struck the woman. Also, officers believe that one or two more vehicles struck the victim who was already down on the pavement.

Authorities confirmed that the victim died in the crash.
