1 Dead in Fresno County Motorcycle Accident on East Street and Mount Whitney Avenue

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (June 30, 2024) – Friday night, a brutal motorcycle crash on East Street and Mount Whitney Avenue killed 1 person.

The crash happened at about 9:18 p.m. in the area of East Street and Mount Whitney Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 20-year-old man from Kerman, who had been riding a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400 motorcycle, lying on the ground and unresponsive.

The other vehicle involved, a 2000 Ford F-150 driven by a 17-year-old from Lemoore, was still present at the scene.

According to the CHP, the motorcyclist was heading westbound on Mount Whitney Avenue and approaching an intersection when the driver of the Ford, traveling northbound on East Street, either failed to stop or yield at a stop sign. 

The collision occurred when the teen driver entered the intersection, directly into the path of the Kawasaki, causing a violent impact. The motorcycle rolled over, and its rider was ejected due to the force of the crash.

Meanwhile, the motorcycle rider sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck sustained moderate injuries and was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and, after receiving medical treatment, was booked into the Fresno County Juvenile Justice Center.
