1 Person Dead in Palo Alto Auto Accident on Highway 101 and San Antonio Road

PALO ALTO, CA (September 21, 2023) – Sunday morning, a brutal hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 and San Antonio Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 1:15 a.m. on Highway 101 and San Antonio Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound 2019 Mazda CX-5 rear-ended a northbound 2011 Chevrolet Camaro for still unknown reasons. Then, a 2019 Honda Accord and a 2019 Nissan Altima struck the disabled Chevrolet.

Moreover, responders pronounced the Chevrolet’s driver, a 24-year-old Redwood City man, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the Honda’s driver to a hospital with major injuries. Also, a passenger of the Nissan complained of pain but was not transported to a hospital.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that the Mazda’s driver fled the scene on foot after the incident.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
