People Hospitalized in Martin County Fatal Collision
Martin County, TX (Aug. 1, 2023) – On July 31, 19-year-old Broyln Chavez of Lamesa died and others were injured following a Highway 349 rear-end collision.
Investigating officers stated that a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, the vehicle Chavez was a passenger in, was southbound on the freeway. Just then, the 2019 Silverado slowed down because of a previous traffic incident. As a result, to the 2015 Silverado rear-ended the 2019 Silverado.
Responding officers rushed Broyln Chavez to Midland Memorial Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The three other people involved in the collision were also rushed to MMH in stable condition.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the Martin County fatal collision.
