Brian Fogel in Custody Following Highway 49 Fatal Collision [Grass Valley, CA]

Grass Valley, CA (March 27, 2023) – On Sunday, the authorities placed Brian Fogel in custody following a Highway 49 fatal collision killing his female passenger.

The authorities responded to the crash report at about 3:13 p.m. north of McKnight Way.

When they arrived, officers located a 1996 Subaru Legacy overturned on the freeway. Fogel and his passenger were trapped inside the vehicle.

A man and woman were trapped in the wreckage. 

Immediately, the rescuers provided medical care to the unresponsive woman. She was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries. Responders also located a dead dog inside the car.

Similarly, the medical team airlifted Fogel to the same medical center with major injuries.

CHP officials said Fogel swerved off the roadway and struck a pine tree. They added that alcohol appears to be a factor in the fatal collision.

Moreover, the authorities took Fogel in custody pending medical treatment and the incident is still under investigation.
