49-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies in Crash at Cantu Galleano Ranch Road
MIRA LOMA, CA (May 20, 2018) – A man was killed in a motorcycle crash on the 15 Freeway, late Monday night. The deceased victim was identified as 49-year-old Brian Berends of Yorba Linda.
The crash occurred at around 10:53 PM on Highway 15 at Cantu Galleano Ranch Road in Jurupa Valley. Berends was riding on a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, when it traveled to the right, across the asphalt shoulder onto the dirt shoulder, and hit the guardrail.
The motorcycle kept going southbound, overturned, and threw Berends onto the roadway. He suffered critical head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the California Highway Patrol, it appeared that Berends was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision, and the case remains under investigation. Additional information has not been disclosed at this time.
