Passenger Dies in Elko DUI Collision
Elko, NV (November 20, 2022) – On Friday morning, the authorities arrested Brevyn Raining Bird, 25, following a Mountain City Highway fatal crash.
Officers say Raining Bird was driving along the twisting canyon road when his vehicle rolled off the highway into the river.
His passenger was thrown from the vehicle and officers suspect that the victim likely sustained a fatal head injury after hitting his head on a large boulder.
Moreover, Raining Bird told the officers he had multiple beers and hard liquor shots at Lone Mountain Station before driving north on the highway. He also said that the last time he used cannabis was the day before the accident.
Officers rushed Brevyn Raining Bird to the hospital in Elko and blood samples were taken prior to his arrest.
Then, the officers booked Raining Bird at around 1 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence resulting in death or substantial bodily harm, and failure to maintain control on a highway.
