Man Struck by Truck on St Patrick’s Day near North Madison Street
SPOKANE, WA (March 17, 2018) – A man was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver during the Garland Pub Crawl near North Madison Street on St Patrick’s Day.
Brandon Giard, his wife, and another couple were walking across the street to go to the pub crawl in a designated crosswalk, when a truck hit him. The vehicle clipped his wrist, spun him around, and slammed his face, before fleeing from the scene. Giard also lost his wedding ring from the impact of the collision.
Emergency personnel arrived at the crash site and transported the man to a local hospital for treatment.
Witnesses state that the suspect vehicle is an older blue or grey truck. Surveillance videos show the car on the sidewalk, but doesn’t show the moment when the man was hit. There is currently no description of the driver of the truck. Anyone who witnessed the crash and has further information is encouraged to call the Spokane Police Department at (509) 625-4100. Officials continue to search for the hit-and-run driver and the vehicle involved.
