22-Year-Old Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Accident on Close Street
WHITTIER, CA (June 2, 2018) – A male rider was killed and another person was injured in a motorcycle crash on Mills Avenue on Sunday night. The deceased victim was identified by the coroner’s office, as 22-year-old Brandon Austin Laboy.
Officers received a report about the accident at around 8:32 PM at Mills Avenue and Close Street. According to the authorities, four vehicles were involved in the incident, a black Honda motorcycle, a black Yamaha FZ-10, a silver Hyundai Sonata, and a black Nissan Sentra.
Both motorcyclists, including Laboy, were thrown from their motorcycles. Laboy sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorcyclist was rushed to the UCI Medical Center in Orange. The extent of injuries sustained by the patient and the current condition was not immediately announced. CHP Officer Jeremy Tolen believes that the injured man is Laboy’s brother.
No further details about the crash were immediately released to the public.
