Downtown Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Accident on Olive Street Kills Branden Finley

 
Los Angeles, CA (January 17, 2021) – On Saturday, 46-year-old Branden Finley, a bicyclist, died in a hit-and-run crash on Olive Street.
 
The fatal accident happened at 8 a.m. in downtown Los Angeles.
 
A delivery driver driving a 2010 Toyota Tacoma was making his rounds in the 900 block of Wilshire Boulevard.
 
A man asked him for a ride which he refused. The driver left the motor of his vehicle running. Then suddenly, the suspect jumped inside and locked the doors.
 
Immediately, the vehicle owner climbed onto the bed of his pickup and tried to get the suspect out of it. However, the suspect kept driving which prompted the owner to jump from his own truck.
 
Subsequently, the vehicle went into the traffic and approached Olive Street.
 
At that moment, it struck Finley, who landed on the vehicle’s hood before falling off near Hill Street.
 
Paramedics pronounced Mr. Finley dead at the scene.
 
Afterward, the hit-and-run driver crashed into two cars before he abandoned the vehicle.
 
Meanwhile, a video surveillance captured the suspect’s image.
 
The authorities estimated the suspect to be 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 150 to 160 pounds.
 
He was seen barefoot and wearing black pants and a blue hoodie, which he later replaced with a white one.
 
A reward of $50,000 from the city fund is available to anyone who could provide details leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
