Police Investigate Crash on 31st Avenue in New River

New River, AZ (January 30, 2025) – A 12-year-old boy sustained serious injuries in a crash on 31st Avenue and New River Road Thursday morning north of the Valley.

According to Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies, the incident occurred around 7 a.m. near 31st Avenue and New River Road. 

The boy was crossing the street to board a school bus when a sedan hit him.

Emergency responders transported the child to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

The driver of the sedan stayed at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. 

MCSO Vehicular Crimes Detectives are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
