Young Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Reversing Vehicle near South Jordan Avenue

 
SAN JACINTO, CA (February 11, 2019) – A boy was killed Monday afternoon following a pedestrian crash on East 3rd Street. The age and the name of the victim were not immediately disclosed.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near South Jordan Avenue, at about 3:45 PM. A vehicle was backing from a residential driveway when it struck a male juvenile, who had been on the ground near the rear of the vehicle.
 
The victim suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. Unfortunately, the boy succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical personnel. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal accident and to identify possible contributing factors.
