13-Year-Old Boy Riding Electric Scooter Injured in Crash near Idaho Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 18, 2018) – A boy was injured Thursday evening following a dockless scooter crash on El Cajon Boulevard.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident took place shortly after 7:00 PM in the 2800 block of El Cajon Boulevard near Idaho Street. The teenager was riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk when a car turned into the driveway of a fast food restaurant.
The victim suffered minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital as a precaution. Updates on his current medical condition were not immediately available. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. It was also noted that the boy was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
