Bobby Lee Bullard Struck and Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Manor Street

Bakersfield, CA (October 27, 2020) – On Monday, a Bobby Lee Bullard died in a pedestrian accident on Manor street east of Felton Street.

The California Highway Patrol team was notified of the incident at about 4:30 p.m. wherein the victim was struck by a white box truck.

Upon arrival, the authorities pronounced the 58-year-old driver dead at the scene.

CHP said a Ford food delivery truck was parked on the south shoulder of eastbound Manor Street while the victim was standing in one of the lanes on Manor. At the same time, a Hino box truck was traveling eastbound on Manor approaching the parked Ford and the pedestrian.

The Hino truck driver saw the pedestrian in the roadway and moved to the left side of the #2 lane. As the Hino truck passed the parked Ford truck, the passenger side mirror struck the opened freezer door of the Ford.

Further, the box truck driver was within the bounds of the law when the incident occurred. He stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Alcohol or speeding were not factors in the crash.

Meanwhile, the authorities closed the Eastbound lanes on Manor Street from North Chester Avenue to about one-fourth of a mile east of Felton Street for about three hours for the investigation.
