26-Year-Old Fresno Man Dies in Motorcycle Collision with Refrigerator near Highway 180
FRESNO, CA (October 4, 2018) – A man was killed Thursday evening following a motorcycle accident near Highway 180. The victim was later identified as 26-year-old Blaine Thomas, a resident of Fresno.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 7:15 PM at the transition ramp from Highway 168 to Highway 180. A 2003 Yamaha, operated by the victim, slammed into a refrigerator that had fallen out of a truck.
The impact ejected Thomas from his motorcycle, causing serious injuries. Several motorists attempted to render aid to the injured motorcyclist before he was transported to the Community Regional Medical Center. Unfortunately, Thomas succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff.

An investigation is ongoing to determine whether or not the truck driver will be facing charges. In addition, CHP officers remain in contact with the party that dropped the refrigerator. No additional information has been disclosed to the public at this time.
