Multiple Vehicles Involved in Fiery Collision near Oak Flat Road

PATTERSON, CA (December 14, 2018) – The authorities were called after a big rig caught fire in a crash on southbound 5 Freeway, Friday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 10:58 AM, near the intersection of Oak Flat Road. Based on their report, the big rig caught fire after it crashed into the guard rail of the freeway. Three other vehicles were involved after being hit by debris.

An ambulance requested for needed medical attention. The paramedics had not yet released a report regarding any injury sustained in the incident.

100 gallons of diesel fuel and water mix were found in the ditch next to trailer. The No. 2 lane, as well as the ditch were blocked while cleaning and clearing operations were performed in the area. Authorities continue to investigate the collision. Additional information will be released to the public, once available.
