Man Injured in Belmonte Bicycle Accident on Fowler Avenue

BELMONTE, CA (June 17, 2019) – A bicyclist sustained injuries after a hit-and-run vehicle struck him near Fowler Avenue on June 13.

Fresno Police revealed that a vehicle struck a man in his 50s while he was riding home. The vehicle escaped immediately after.

At about 8.30 p.m., a good Samaritan found the victim and used their own vehicle to block the roadway to stop other vehicles from hitting him.

The rider was unconscious when the good Samaritan saw him. However, he recovered consciousness when medical responders came and administered CPR.

It’s still unclear how long the rider stayed in the road before the good Samaritan found him.

According to authorities, the victim only remembers how he got struck and woke up in the hospital. The man is in critical but stable condition.

Authorities are still looking for any potential surveillance video in the area at this time.
