1 Seriously Injured in Bicycle Accident on Bancroft Drive in Spring Valley

 
SPRING VALLEY, CA (May 11, 2020) – Friday evening, a hit-and-run driver struck and injured a 53-year-old bicyclist on Bancroft Drive.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly after 8:15 p.m., near Olive Drive. The bicyclist was riding south on Bancroft Drive when he was hit by a car from behind. According to Officer Garrow, the vehicle described as a dark-colored sedan was also traveling in the same direction as the bicyclist.
 
Due to the impact, the bicycle rider was thrown off from his bike. Meanwhile, the driver continued to drive and was last seen heading south on Bancroft Drive.
 
At this time, authorities did not disclose the identity of the victim. However, medical responders transported him to Scripps Mercy Hospital for further treatment of major injuries.
