Pickup Truck and Bicycle Collision near Via de San Ysidro
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 30, 2019) – A bicyclist was severely injured in a crash in the 300 block of West Calle Primera on Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Via de San Ysidro at approximately 1:00 PM.
Reports showed that the collision occurred when the 46-year-old bicyclist suddenly turned into the path of a northbound pickup truck.
The bicyclist suffered major head trauma and brain swelling requiring surgery.
The condition of the driver of the pickup truck, a 67-year-old man, was not yet released.
Additional information was not immediately available. However, an investigation by the authorities is on-going.
