Officers Arrest Driver in Crown Valley Parkway Fatal Collision

Dana Point, CA (February 2, 2023) – On Wednesday, a bicyclist sustained fatal injuries in a Pacific Coast Highway accident.

The fatal accident occurred past 3 p.m. near the intersection with Crown Valley Parkway.

Reports say the driver of a northbound white Lexus struck the bicyclist who was knocked off the bike and thrown onto the street.

Afterward, the driver turned around, got out of the vehicle, and attacked the cyclist.

Sgt. Mike Woodroof with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said, “At that point, the suspect drove around the victim, exited his vehicle, went back to the victim, and continued to assault the victim.”

Witnesses at the scene held down the driver until the authorities arrived. He is now in custody.

It has been noted that the bike got mangled in the middle of the street while the white Lexus sustained a broken windshield.

Meanwhile, the authorities are reviewing a video of the assault to determine a motive and if the two men knew each other.
