Fatal Bicycle Crash on El Camino Avenue in Carmichael

 
CARMICHAEL, CA (June 1, 2019) – A bicyclist was killed after they were struck in a crash at El Camino Avenue and Landwood Way.
 
The collision happened around 8:30 p.m., at the intersection of El Camino Avenue and Landwood Way. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
 
According to reports, the bicyclist was heading south on Landwood Way when they crossed El Camino Avenue without stopping for traffic. Meanwhile, an eastbound SUV was unable to stop in time, striking the bicyclist at the intersection.
 
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Information on the victim’s identity was not immediately available pending family notification.
 
The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
CHP officers are investigating the crash and are working to determine whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.
