1 Dead in Las Vegas Bicycle Accident on West Lake Mead Parkway and Perlite Way
LAS VEGAS, NV (September 19, 2021) – Friday night, a bicyclist died in a crash on West Lake Mead Parkway and Perlite Way.
Reports revealed that officers responded to a crash between a car and a bicycle at about 8:58 p.m. Moreover, it occurred at West Lake Mead Parkway and Perlite Way.
When the authorities arrived, they determined that a blue Alfa Romero SUV traveled east on Lake Mead Parkway. Then, it changed lanes and drove across the path of the bicyclist in the bicycle lane.
Responders took the 29-year-old bicyclist to a local hospital in critical condition. Later, the rider succumbed to injuries.
According to reports, the bicycle doesn’t have any reflective devices and the rider failed to wear a helmet.
At this time, the authorities do not suspect that impairment and speed played a role in the crash.
The authorities continue to investigate the crash.
