Deadly San Jose Bicycle Crash on Vistapark Drive

 
SAN JOSE, CA (July 16, 2019) – A driver fatally struck a bicyclist and severely injured another on Vistapark Drive near Capitol Expressway Monday.
 
According to police, the incident happened around 7:43 a.m. in South San Jose. Per police reports, a woman in a gray Chevrolet SUV exited a parking lot southbound on Vistapark Drive when she struck the pair of bicyclists.
 
Paramedics arrived at the scene and brought both cyclists to a hospital. However, one of them died moments later while the other remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
 
The driver, who appeared emotional at the scene, was not believed to be impaired at the time of the accident say reports. However, authorities plan to investigate this incident further. In addition, police did not release any other information regarding the accident at this time.
