Deadly Bicycle Accident on McKinley Avenue in Fresno
FRESNO, CA (August 13, 2019) – A bicyclist died after being hit by a car Tuesday morning on McKinley Avenue in Fresno.
The crash happened around 7:40 a.m. just east of Temperance Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the bicyclist rode westbound on McKinley Avenue when a Toyota Sienna clipped him from behind. A 17-year-old Clovis East student drove the Toyota, who drifted onto the right shoulder. Four other Clovis East students were also in the vehicle.
The impact ejected the bicyclist from the bike onto the roadway. Paramedics arrived and took him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. His name or age has not yet been released.
At this time, authorities did not rule out drugs and/or alcohol as factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
