Bicyclist Killed after Hit by Vehicle at Kester Avenue and Victory Boulevard [VAN NUYS, CA]

Man on Bicycle Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Kester Avenue in Van Nuys

 
VAN NUYS, CA (December 7, 2019) – A bicycle rider died after being hit by a vehicle Saturday night in Van Nuys, authorities said.
 
The crash happened around 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Kester Avenue and Victory Boulevard.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the vehicle was heading westbound on Kester Avenue entering the intersection at Victory Boulevard with a green light. A man believed to be in his 40s was traveling eastbound on the bicycle, crossing the intersection illegally. The vehicle then struck the bicyclist.
 
Paramedics rushed the man to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
 
The unidentified driver stopped to call for help and render assistance, authorities said.
 
The motorist obeyed the law by rendering assistance, and was released from the scene without citation.
