Fatal Bicycle Crash on Folsom Boulevard in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (November 8, 2019) – A bicyclist was killed following a collision with an SUV Friday evening in Sacramento, police said.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:47 p.m. in the 8600 block of Folsom Boulevard, just near the U.S. Social Security Administration building.
 
According to police, a man was riding his bicycle when an eastbound Chevrolet Suburban struck him. The crash caused the SUV driver to lose control and swerve off the road, stopping against a tree.
 
Paramedics arrived and pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene. Information on the victim’s identity was not immediately available.
 
The driver remained at the crash site and was cooperative with the investigation.
 
Investigators said the driver did not show any signs of being impaired and speed does not seem to be a factor in the crash.
 
The driver and the passengers in the SUV were not injured and the crash is still being investigated, according to officials.
