Unidentified Bicycle Rider Struck Injured in Auto Accident on Tulare Street in Bakersfield

 
Bakersfield, CA (May 17, 2020) – Thursday morning, an unidentified bicyclist was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Irene Street.
 
The collision happened before shortly 8:00 a.m., on the intersection of Irene and Tulare Street. Emergency personnel arrived to the area, shortly after. Officers say the bicyclist was crossing the roadway when they were struck by the driver of a pickup-truck.
 
According to reports, the driver then stopped for a brief time before continuing to travel. The white pickup-truck was last seen heading south on Irene Street, according to California Highway Patrol.
 
Meanwhile, the biker was rushed to Kern Medical for further treatment. They were reportedly suffering from severe injuries. However, there has been no update on their current condition.
 
The surrounding area on Irene Street was closed off while crews collected evidence and conducted a preliminary investigation. However, the roadway has since reopened.

At this time, there is no available description of the driver. The vehicle was described a white pickup-truck tugging a white trailer.
 
California Highway Patrol also said that the vehicle should show some damage from the collision.
