Bicyclist Injured after Hit by Vehicle at Lyons Avenue and Apple Street [SANTA CLARITA, CA]

Santa Clarita Bicycle Accident on Lyons Avenue and Apple Street

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (June 28, 2019) – A bicyclist sustained injuries after being hit by a vehicle Friday afternoon in Santa Clarita.
 
The crash happened around 5:00 p.m., at the intersection of Lyons Avenue and Apple Street.
 
Los Angeles County Fire Department officials responded to the scene and dragged the crumpled bicycle from the gutter and removed the twisted metal from the street.
 
Paramedics took the victim to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Multiple lanes on Lyons Avenue were blocked for a brief period while emergency crews worked on the scene. However, the roadway has since reopened.
 
Police did not provide any other information about if the car’s driver remained or fled after the crash. It is also unknown whether any charges were filed and liability has not yet been determined.
 
The incident still remains under investigation at this time.
