Heather Maciel Killed in Crash, Suspect Arrested

 
Visalia, CA (May 29, 2020)– On Friday, bicyclist Heather Maciel died in a crash, and police arrested the suspected driver, 30-year-old Barry Dantzler.
 
Dantzler was a suspect of 37-year-old Heather Sloan‘s homicide case. The victim’s body was found on Tuesday, May 26, at home in the area of 1500 S. Thomas Court.
 
 
Following the search of Dantzler, police located him Friday night, May 29, at around 7 p.m near a Motel 6 in Tulare. He then immediately fled in a vehicle and failed to stop.
 
Moreover, Dantzler then lost control of his vehicle and collided into a utility pole, causing the car to roll over. The car in effect struck 44 year old Heather Maciel, who died on the spot.
 
At this time, Dantzler is facing charges for homicide, home invasion, felony evading, as well as the death of the cyclist.
