Grays Harbour County Crash on State Route 12 Kills Bicyclist

 
Grays Harbour County, WA (October 9, 2020) – A fatal crash involving a bicycle and a pickup occurred on State Route 12 on Tuesday night.
 
The tragic incident took place on October 6 on State Route 12 around 8 p.m.
 
In a report, the bicyclist and the 2004 Toyota Tacoma pickup driver were traveling west on State Route 12. According to the Washington State Patrol press memo, the front passenger side of the truck hit the bicyclist near milepost 28.
 
However, it is still unknown what caused the collision.
 
The impact of the crash left the bicyclist dead on the scene. Trooper Chelsea Hodgson reported that the bicyclist was not wearing a helmet during the incident.

Pending Investigation of Bicycle Accident in Grays Harbour County

 
On Wednesday morning, Hodgson said in a text that the release of the victim’s identification is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin. The State Patrol will release the victim’s identification as soon as the family is notified.
 
Meanwhile, the 64-year-old male driver and the 54-year-old male passenger of the pickup, both from Elma, did not sustain injuries from the crash.
 
Furthermore, the crash led to the closure of the roadway for 3 ½ hours. The state Department of Transportation is helping with traffic control.
