Bicyclist Critically Hurt in Collision on Cuyamaca Street at Fletcher Parkway [El Cajon, CA]

Woman Riding Bike Hit, Injured by Driver in El Cajon

 
EL CAJON, CA (March 26, 2019) – A female bicyclist suffered major injuries in Saturday’s crash on Cuyamaca Street at Fletcher Parkway.
 
The bicyclist, described as a woman in her 40s, began pedaling her way south on Cuyamaca Street in a crosswalk. Yet according to El Cajon Police Lt. Jason Taub, the woman rode against a red light resulting in a collision with a westbound 2017 Chevrolet SUV on Fletcher Parkway.
 
Around 6:25 p.m., officers and paramedics responded and found the victim in an unresponsive state. Soon after, medics rushed her to a nearby trauma center with major injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the 53-year-old male driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers.
