Bicyclist Hospitalized after Foulks Ranch Drive Hit-And-Run Crash
Elk Grove, CA (May 29, 2020)– On Tuesday morning, one unidentified bicyclist sustained severe injuries in a hit-and-run auto crash on Foulks Ranch Drive and Laguna Lake Way.
The crash occurred at around 7:40 a.m. on May 26. Dispatched officers arrived and located the severely injured bicyclist on the scene.
The victim was reportedly riding a bicycle in the bike lane when the victim was hit by a passing vehicle. The victim suffered severe head lacerations due to the collision and responders immediately transported the individual to a local hospital. However, the suspect involved fled the scene.
Moreover, investigators described the suspect’s car as a white 2010-2013 Honda Accord.
It will likely have damage to its windshield, passenger side body panels, and will be missing its passenger-side mirror.
It appears the suspect is “an older woman with grey hair who could barely see over the steering wheel.”
Furthermore, Police continue investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information relevant to the case to contact Elk Grove police at (916) 627-3714.
According to NHTSA, pedestrian and bicyclist fatalities continue to rise in the United States. More pedestrians and cyclists were killed in 2018 than in any year since 1990.
It is therefore important to know how to proceed in case you find yourself involved in an accident similar to the reported above.
