59-Year-Old Artemio Arriaga-Oliva Dies in Oddie Boulevard Bicycle Crash
Sparks, NV (July 02, 2021)– On Wednesday, 59-year-old bicyclist Artemio Arriaga-Oliva died in a crash on Oddie Boulevard.
The fatal crash took place minutes before 9 a.m. at the Rock Boulevard intersection.
Officers said Arriaga-Oliva was riding his bike westbound on Oddie Boulevard when he lost control of the bike and fell onto the road.
At the same time, a northbound car on Rock Boulevard, trying to turn right to head eastbound struck Arriaga-Oliva.
Unfortunately, Arriaga-Oliva incurred serious injuries in the accident.
Right away, rescuers took Arriaga-Oliva to Renown Regional Medical Center where he died.
Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The authorities are investigating the cause and manner of the victim’s death. Also, they said speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
