Bicycle Rider Hurt in Car-Bicycle Collision on Lake Park Drive [San Jacinto, CA]

San Jacinto, CA (March 27, 2022) On Saturday, a man riding a bicycle was seriously hurt in a car-bicycle collision on Lake Park Drive.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office says that the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on Lake Park Drive south of Soboba Road.

Rescuers say that the man was not responsive when they got to the scene.

Paramedics took the man to the hospital for immediate treatment.

Officials say that “The investigation revealed the subject was riding a bicycle in the number-two lane of southbound Lake Park Drive as the Honda was traveling within the number-one lane of southbound Lake Park Drive.”

Moreover, “As the Honda passed the bicyclist, the bicyclist veered into the number-one lane, colliding into the passenger side of the Honda, causing the subject to fall off the bicycle.”

Authorities said that the driver did not flee and stopped to help the rider.

Officers are investigating the crash and it is not yet known if impairment was a factor in the collision.
