San Diego Police Investigates Bicycle-Car Collision on Woodrow Avenue
San Diego, CA (May 6, 2023) On Thursday afternoon, a bicycle accident on Woodrow Avenue left an 11-year-old boy with a fractured left femur and tibia.
According to the San Diego Police Department, that the bicycle-car collision happened around 5:30 p.m. on the 1300 block of Woodrow Avenue.
Reports say that the boy was crossing the northbound lane and went onto the east sidewalk then turned back and left the sidewalk in a westerly direction.
Officials say that a 37-year-old woman was driving her Hyundai Elantra hit the boy as he entered the lane from the sidewalk.
The boy sustained broken bones due to the collision. The female driver stayed at the scene and was not hurt. Officials say that she was not showing signs of impairment.
