51-Year-Old Santa Rosa Resident Killed in Commerce Boulevard Bicycle-Pickup Collision
Rohnert Park, CA (July 29, 2023) On Friday afternoon, a 51-year-old Santa Rosa resident dies in a bicycle accident on Commerce Boulevard.
According to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS), the fatal bicycle-pickup collision happened at about 12:40 p.m. on the 5700 block of Commerce Boulevard.
Reports say that a Ram 1500 pickup coming out of a parking lot and turning into the northbound lane of Commerce Boulevard struck a southbound bicyclist. The impact of the crash sent the cyclist to the ground, the rider suffered serious life-threatening injuries.
Medics rushed the cyclist to the hospital, where the cyclist was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, the pickup driver stayed at the scene and was not showing signs of impairment.
