Betty Zimmerman Dead Following Head-On Crash on Vallecito Road

 
Angels Camp, CA (December 22, 2020) – On Friday, 85-year-old Betty Zimmerman of Murphys died while 80-year-old Albert Tonetti, also from Murphys, was involved in a head-on crash on Vallecito Road.
 
The Angels Camp crash happened at about 10 a.m. near Rolleri Bypass Road, south of State Route 4.
 
Zimmerman was driving a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire at an unknown speed. Then,
 
For an unknown reason, Zimmerman’s vehicle crossed the solid double yellow lines. Tonetti, on the other hand, was unable to avoid a head-on crash.
 
Authorities closed the roadway for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to provide patient care and investigate the scene.
 
Tonetti was driving a 1972 Chevrolet C10 truck at the time of the accident. Rescuers transported him by life flight helicopter for treatment of major injuries at Doctors Medical Center.
 
Moreover, the San Andreas CHP said drugs or alcohol use are not involved in this accident.
