Benton Woman Injured in Scooter Accident on Sandywood Road [Scott County, MO]

Scott County, MO (January 5, 2025) – A 55-year-old Benton woman sustained injuries following a scooter accident on Sandywood Road late Friday afternoon.

It was around 5:55 p.m. when the traffic accident occurred approximately 3 miles north of Sikeston.

According to the investigators, the Benton woman was driving a northbound Ascend scooter that collided head-on with a southbound 2017 Honda Pilot driven by a 34-year-old Ste. Genevieve woman.

Immediately, the rescuers took the Benton woman to a Cape Girardeau hospital with moderate injuries.

The authorities are investigating the cause of this collision.
