Officers Investigate Fatal Collision in Asotin County
Asotin County, WA (May 20, 2021) – On Friday, Prosecuting Attorney/Coroner Benjamin Nichols sustained fatal injuries following a Critchfield Road vehicle collision.
Investigating officers said Nichols traveling in the area of Swallows Nest Drive when an elderly man made a left turn with his SUV and struck Nichols.
The responding medical team rushed Nichols to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. He was later airlifted to Sacred Heart in Spokane due to the severity of his injuries.
However, Nichols succumbed to his injuries at about 4 p.m.
Officers said the other driver involved in the accident did not sustain injuries from the accident.
The authorities are investigating the fatal collision.
