Deadly Collision in Leon County Injures Three
Leon County, TX (January 30, 2023) – At about 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, Barbara Johnson, 72, of Spring, and Sandra Mcintosh, 67, of Katy, died in a Highway 79 vehicle collision.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said a 2014 Dodge was southbound on the Freeway. Suddenly, it hydroplaned, crossed into the northbound lane, and was hit by a northbound 2021 Infinity.
Barbara Johnson, a passenger in the Dodge was declared dead at the crash scene.
Similarly, Sandra Mcintosh, a passenger in the Infinity, was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Moreover, the paramedics also took the Dodge driver to Palestine Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Rescuers also transported the Infinity driver, Qwendolyn Hood, 49, of Katy, and passenger Shelbi Jackson, 24, of Katy, to Palestine Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
Officers are investigating the collision in Leon County.
