Two-Car Crash at South Fort Apache Road and West Tompkins Avenue Kills 2 and Seriously Injures 1
LAS VEGAS, NV (February 1, 2020) – Two people died following a two-car crash Saturday morning in the Spring Valley-area of Las Vegas.
The crash happened around 11:11 a.m. at the intersection of South Fort Apache Road and West Tompkins Avenue, police said.
According to evidence and witnesses, a black 2018 Dodge Challenger was traveling north on Fort Apache Road near the intersection. It then entered the southbound lanes for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a silver 2017 Hyundai Elantra heading south.
As a result, the driver and the passenger of the Hyundai died at the scene. The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified them as 69-year-old Barbara Brender and 58-year-old Mariann Quinones.
The Dodge driver, a 78-year-old man, was taken to University Medical Center in serious condition.
Police closed the Fort Apache Road in both directions from Tropicana Avenue to Peace Way while they investigated.
