BAKERSFIELD, CA – Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Merle Haggard Drive

Deadly Motorcycle Collision on Pegasus Drive near Meadows Field Airport

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 23, 2019) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Merle Haggard Drive Saturday evening. His identity has not been released.
 
The crash happened around 7:40 p.m. near the area of Merle Haggard Drive and Pegasus Drive.
 
Witnesses told officials that a motorcycle was heading westbound on Merle Haggard Drive, crossed the center divider and drove erratically into the opposite lanes. It then struck a sidewalk and overturned, ejecting the rider.
 
The victim, described as a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately available pending notification of his family members.
 
Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. Further investigation of this incident is underway.
