Avenue 2 Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills 52-year-old Winton Woman [Merced County, CA]

Merced County, CA (November 17, 2022) On Tuesday afternoon, a multi-vehicle crash on Avenue 2 claimed the life of a 52-year-old woman from Winton.

CHP says that the fatal accident happened at about 5:17 p.m. at the intersection with Santa Fe Drive.

Reports say that the Winton woman was on an eastbound 2015 Nissan Sedan attempted to make a left turn in front of a southbound 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser.

39-year-old Antonio Rojas of Merced was on the Toyota, and was not able to stop his vehicle on time. The Nissan collided with the front of teh Toyota.

The impact of teh collision sent the Nissan southeast and consquently collided with a 2018 BMW driven by 26-year-old Rayanne Jawad of Atwater.

Rojas and Jawad did not sustain injuries, however, the Winton driver died at the scene.

Authorities are investigating the multi-vehicle crash on Avenue 2, and have not released additional information at this time.
