Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99 South of Airport Drive

Bakersfield, CA (October 26, 2020) – On Saturday, the California Highway Patrol responded to a seven-vehicle crash on Highway 99.

The incident took place at around 1 p.m. south of Airport Drive.

Furthermore, the CHP said a gray Honda was driving recklessly on the highway prior to the incident.

Apparently, the said vehicle cut the other vehicles as it entered a bypass lane.

The authorities have not yet determined if the vehicle caused the crash, or if there were other factors involved.

Meanwhile, the authorities closed the bypass lane involved in the collision.

Practice safe driving habits on the road at all times… even when it is empty, even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make a full and complete stop.

Scan the road 1/2 mile to a full mile ahead in order to look out or recognize potential hazards in time. Our bodies weren’t designed to travel at 50mph. We were designed for speeds of less than 10mph. Thus, you need to learn to consciously break that natural instinct and focus farther ahead.
