Driver Injured in Tyler Deadly Collision
Tyler, TX (August 20, 2023) – On Friday, 36-year-old Austin Durrett from Jacksonville was killed in a S Broadway Avenue collision.
The traffic collision happened at around 7:15 p.m. in the 9300 block area between Market Square Boulevard Loop 49.
Tyler Police PIO Andy Erbaugh stated that a black Toyota pickup driven by Durrett was southbound on S Broadway Avenue. He ried to pass traffic on the southbound shoulder but collided with another vehicle in the attempt.
Unfortunately, Durrett’s vehicle rolled several time and he died at the crash scene.
The paramedics rushed the driver of the other vehicle to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
In the meantime, the authorities asked motorists to avoid the area if possible.
